Who is Our Vice President?

During the presidential campaign, Obama had selected long time senator Joe Biden.  Joe Biden had been a senator for the state of Delaware.  Obama’s pick for his vice president was the first thing that Obama had done that impressed me.  Joe Biden is a very smart man and could easily hold the office of commander and chief. 

Now that Obama has finally settled in as president, where did Joe Biden go?  I have not heard one thing about him for weeks.  He has stayed out of the public as well as media’s eye.  This has happened to many of our vice presidents in the past.  Dick Cheney was one of the most private, public office holders I have ever seen.  He rarely made news and worked very quietly.  Even though from two completely different parties, Dick Cheney and Joe Biden share a common trait.  A trait that many vice presidents in the past have shared.

Now, really where is the vice president?  Well if you really didn’t know, the vice president of the United States has his own house.  It is located in Washing D.C. on a naval observatory.  The house is white, just like the white house, but it is much smaller.  Here, in that house, is where the vice president does all of his work and is constantly waiting to take over for the president’s job.

In conclusion the vice presidents of the past have kept out of media attention and mostly focus on work and staying healthy just in case.  Because, they have to be ready to take over at any given point.  Giving the vice president the phrase, “A heartbeat away from the presidency
