WHY Obama Will be Re-elected
THERE and BARRACK AGAIN or BARRACK to the FUTURE – an overview of the President’s possibilities and options in 2012. You may disagree, but there are three points that suggest that doesn’t matter.
When all the votes are counted, Barrack Obama is going to win the election for President. You know that, don’t you?
Now, I don’t have the “insider’s” view that Ulsterman has – I don’t even live in the United States! But being an outsider looking in, quite often things are clearer that way. Kind of like reading a book or watching a movie – you can see what’s going on, but the characters in it apparently can’t. When you are shouting at them “Don’t go in there!” or “Turn on the light, for God’s sake!” they go in anyway and they don’t turn on the light.
Consider the challengers. Since we are talking about the United States, maybe it is best to use a football analogy. The players on the field can’t see a damn thing. Their views downfield are often obscured and they run the risk of being blind-sided and piled on over the slightest mistake. The fans, of course, can see it all unfolding, but scream as they might, the players can’t hear them. The action will unfold, regardless of your pleas from the stands, especially with the help of the network “Expert Color Commentators” who will both immediately, and ever afterwards, interpret what has taken place, putting it in its “proper perspective”, governing your understanding of what you have seen. Namely, that the attacking team is a bunch of clueless idiots. You will agree, because they told you so.
So, when I say that the current administration will be successful in November, what special knowledge do I have that you don’t have? I’ll be specific – none!
However, I do offer you three points to ponder, any of which the defensive team’s cheerleaders will be happy to trumpet, should one of the attacking team’s potential quarterbacks emerge from the scrimmage relatively unscathed, to lead a valiant march towards the goal line.
1. Have you ever known of an American administration that was turfed because the economic outlook was good (or in this case, improving)?
2. Entitlements work!
3. Every presidential incumbent that ran during a time of crisis was returned to office.
To the first point, you are probably saying “But the economy is crap!” Well, yes – but given what you’ve seen since 2008, just prior to the last election, when the current bunch inherited this mess, all it has to do to win favor is to appear to be getting better. This is easy to show, using government numbers (and ‘Expert Color Commentators’) and we all know that government numbers don’t lie.
As to second point, if enough goodies for enough voters are actually (or seen to be) on the line, then success is pretty well secured. Canada’s P.E. Trudeau bred a couple of generations of Liberal loyalty in that vein.
Regarding the third point, you can see that coming, can’t you? All that remains is which crisis will it be – “never let a good one go to waste”. Iran? Pakistan? Who do you want to have at the helm – the man who took down Osama or one of the Three Stooges?
There is a fourth point: he comes from Chicago!
For my money, I’d rather have the guy with the weasel on You Tube ( http://youtu.be/BGH5kWMVMgY ).
