Why Vote

The importance of getting to people to vote in this country.

Not to long ago I got into an argument with my mother about politics, when I started pointing out some facts her come back to me was president Reagen, bush, Clinton or bush never did anything for me so I am not going to argue. my response then why bother to vote at all.

What was so funny about this is that most Americans actually feel this way. they either vote because it is just something they must do. or like many people in the 2000 election felt that why should they vote if their vote is not going to count.

Then their are those that voted not on issues but on what was told to them by spiritual leaders. for example we know that bush won the 2004 election due mostly to right wing Christians. we had our spiritual leaders speaking about politics during services. we had our political leaders speak during services, or taking photo opts in religious institutions, and this made them look like very spiritual leaders. I was raised in the catholic church I went to catholic school during elementary school and high school with exception of middle school where I went to public school.

While in high school I never recall going to mass on Fridays and the priest speaking about politics or our politicians. not even in our senior year when some of us could vote or others were coming of voting age. I also never remember going to church on Sundays and a priest after he red the scripture speaking about politics and politicians in his summon. it was just no considered.

While in high school our religion class was based on the history of christianaty, and the catholic religion. and politics was left to our history and government class. even in a catholic school the two were not mixed.

I really don’t remember when religion and politics became as one or when our political leaders were picked based on what spiritual leaders would tell us. I remember faith being very personal to politicians and it was something that was not to be exploited. operantly all that has changed and I really cannot comprehend it.

The republicans used it to their advantage in 2004. we had spiritual leaders telling us that if we voted democrat this country was going to have homosexuals running this country and abortion clinics were going to be in every street corner. the terrorist were going to attack us every other day. and the only ones that could keep this from happening were the republicans. we later find out that a lot of these spiritual leaders were either having extra martial affairs, having homosexual affairs with male prostitutes, others turned out to be sexual predators of another kind they would prey on children.

Why you shouldn’t vote: It is a waste of time, legitimizes evil, and highly immoral (Voting is in essence an attempt to violently bind your fellow countrymen to your will/the will of your representative).

Instead of voting people should do something more productive and morally sound. Such as; earning money, spending time with friends and family, having sex, learning, eating, drinking, watching TV, and/or staring off into space.
