Anger: the Selfish Killer

Anger is an emotion. How do we deal with it?

Anger is a learned behavior. We become like our friends. Prisons and jails are full of angry persons and some good persons too. All humans have differing perceptions, preferences and personalities. Working as a nurse in an institution, I could not believe some of what i saw. There were husbands who had murdered their wives and vice versa. Just how could love become hate? Aren’t we all capable of this insane act? Yes we are. Free choice and a conscience keeps us from acting wrongly. Why didn’t they just leave or think about consequences? Some showed true remorse and some could have cared less that they took another’s life.Regret is ssuch a sad thing. Yes, accidents happen. Let the courts of justice decide. Anger, when used as a destructive emotion can cause so many problems. Anger changes brain chemicals. Good anger is just that.

We become angry when a thief comes into our home and takes grandmother’s ring. Why didn’t they just ask for it? That is a beggar. Begging for food may be shunned, but this is wrong as then he must become a thief to live(if that one is poor or will not work). Then there is a robber who thinks more of stuff than your life. Crazy, isn’t it? So,how to get rid of anger? You decide for yourself. Personally, I write out just why am I angry. Then I self-examine. What did I do wrong? Walking and talking it out helps also.

Golf is great for anger as long as you do not hit someone with that little hard ball. When crowds become angry, great tragedies may occur. To stuff anger inside is wrong. To break dishes and furniture is what a silly child would do. Grief may cause anger. Proper grieving must be a lost art. Wrongs in this world known as unfairness make us angry. Injustice is included. Here is another thing to think about. An infants brain is not developed enough to understand this emotion or act on it. Youth are. When public officals prevert their power or authority, people suffer. If we are indifferent and uncaring, our human counterparts suffer and we do them an injustice. If nothing is done to stop evil, it grows. If our Creator becomes angry;(afterall, we are made in His image)we are headed for trouble. How can we become a part of a good solution and not the problem?
