Attention Addicts Also Know as

An attention addict or an "attention whore" is someone who craves attention and will go to great lengths to recieve it, not caring who they hurt in the process. This is fairly common amongst teenage girls.

A person who will do these things feel that they have to have attention even if it means disrespecting themselves and their bodies. But no matter how much of this attention they recieve, it’s never enough, it will never fill the neediness they have for attention. That is because they aren’t gaining anything from it although they think they are. They strive for self worthiness by behaving in such provocative ways, make it impossible for them to really reach a level of self worth.

Many attention addicts are also addicts of social sites like Facebook because those sites feed their needs by only causing them to crave more and more attention. They often do things such as posting provocative photos of themselves, revealling their bodies in ways that give off the idea that they are provocative. They also tend to crave male attention and will go to drastic lengths to recieve it. Some of the few things include, using social sites as a way to tell the world what they type of underwear they are wearing, (anybody would get a high volume of response from posting that!) and, that’s the reason for their posting those things. I’m sure most of everybody remembers the facebook trend where women were posting about their under garments on their stauses. Things like that are sure to bring attention but, do we really want that kind of attention? The comments one would recieve from such a post would not be very respectful.

This is where morals come into play. Do our morals mean more to us than a little attention? Is getting attention really that satisfying? A healthy person would honestly answer no to that question. It’s fine to be open with certain things, by all means, do so but, we really need to set better examples for our younger generations. Not to mention, keeping up with what they are doing in their spare time online.

This attention competition between women has come so far that they are willing to hurt each other deeply just to recieve attention. Something has got to change! Is betrayal really worth it, just for a compliment? Maybe it’s that some women have nothing more to offer of themselves that is actually worthy of attention.

Women who act this way are giving the impression that all women are nothing more than a body that can be treated in anyway one prefers. If this type of behavior is stopped at some point, women will no longer be seen as a real person.  The real beauty in women or the skills, and talent they hold will all be lost and forgotten. They will only see a thing, an object.
