Avoiding Stress to Conserve Energy (Self-Hypnosis) De-Stressors

Extract from "Powerful Mind through Self-Hypnosis" by International Bestselling Author Cathal O’Briain.

Another way to increase energy is to avoid stress. The human body is naturally programmed to react to stress from a survival point of view, by moving the person’s energy from their body into their brain. This internal programming enables us to focus completely on the choice of either fighting or running away from the source of anxiety. The problem is that many people nowadays are under constant low levels of stress, but their bodies are still reacting to it as though it were life-threatening.

I know that stress can be hard to avoid at times, but a good way to start is by spending less time with people who drain the energy out of you. The reason why you sometimes feel so tired after talking to certain people is because they are masters at listening to the sound of their own voice. Through need, demand and selfishness, they find ways to suck on your energy to bolster up their own. All too often it happens because we allow them to. Those who listen and allow conversation to have its turn keep energy flowing equally. In a group situation you can sometimes observe one person seeking to dominate the group conversation by feeding off everyone else’s energy. As more people listen to them, they become louder and more domineering; this is how some people enhance their energy levels. And although it’s good to possess strong leadership skills, it isn’t fair on others around you not to allow a word in edgeways. When you listen to others and they listen to you, all parties can benefit from the energy being transported backwards and forwards. So bear this in mind the next time a friend needs a shoulder to cry on. Although they might genuinely need you to listen to their troubles, it may also be true that they have a history of using your compassionate nature to bolster up their own energy. By the end of the meeting they feel refreshed, but you feel drained. This is because the flow of energy went only one way, from you to them.

Reflect on both the past and present, and notice how you sometimes get a sudden surge of energy when involved in a pleasurable activity. Then notice how it just seems to deplete when faced with the prospect of doing something you don’t want to do. The energy you need is already within you, but your subconscious may need a little persuasion before passing it up to you. The reason it sometimes must be convinced that you need energy is because it may be thinking that it would rather be somewhere else more comfortable, like in bed dreaming. Energy enhancement is mind over matter. Regardless of how tired you feel, you can completely reverse this by spending a few minutes in self-hypnosis.
