Cope with a Mid-life Crisis…at any Age
When anyone is going through major life changes, there are ways to re-discover ourselves and begin a new creation process.
We’ve seen the words….but does it apply to us? A mid-life crisis, also known as a Life Transition, can apply to any point in our life when there are MAJOR changes going on and we are at a loss as to what we need to change to keep up with those changes. As difficult as it may seem to stay afloat and be positive when feel we are drowning in mud, this is really the best place to pull ourselves out to when we lose sight of the light. Instead of letting our mind take us away, we can take our minds away…day dream…and dream BIG. What better place to start to create your next step in life, than in a really fantastic dream of what you wish your life looked like? Finding it difficult? Trace your steps back to when you were a kid….what did you love to do? Where did you escape to when you needed an escape…was it writing? singing? spending time with a pet? playing a sport? painting? drawing? talking with friends?…draw on this and create the character in your dream….that character is none other than YOU! Take the next step, and once you have created that character, apply it to real life. What small steps can take you closer to that dream. Maybe you loved singing and you work in a daycare…start teaching your kids to sing some of your favorite (perhaps censored and reconstructed) songs. As scary as it may be, along with other challenges that go with a major life change, consider that you now have a clean page to create whatever you want….now that is exciting!
