Creating a "Dream Board" is Essential to Your Success
You must picture and visualize every detail of the life of your dreams…

I think I first heard about a “Dream Board” about three years ago, when I was having a very interesting conversation with someone I greatly respect and admire. He’s very spiritual and an actor so it makes sense that he often thinks “outside the box”. As we spoke, he told me that he had a “Dream Board”. In fact, as I write this I’m not exactly sure if he’s the one who first introduced the idea to me or if I’d heard it beforehand, all I know is that at about this time, for some reason, the idea stuck in my mind like it had never stuck before. In other words, I’d never actually actively taken the time to create my “Dream Board”.
So you’re probably all wondering… what on earth is a “Dream Board”. Well, as the name so cleverly suggests, it’s a board that a person makes with images, words and momentos of anything they dream of, wish for and visualize in their picture of the perfect life of their dreams. It can include anything from pictures of one’s dream home, to words that help remind a person to keep striving toward making their dreams true.
I guess, more significantly it was at this time when I spoke with that dear friend, that I started to work on my “Dream Board”. I think it had to do with the fact that this friend was actively pursuing his dreams, had created a “Dream Board” himself and was enjoying success in his chosen acting field. It was inspiring and I knew that when in doubt, smart people look to successful actions and incorporate those practices in their lives.
This year I’ve made a promise to myself to be completely faithful and consistent with my ”Dream Board”, attending to it whenever a thought or detail arises, perfecting it, crafting it and making it the truest vision of my dreams as possible. This year, no matter how exciting something seems in the moment, or how wonderful an idea appears to be for a second, I’ve promised myself to always take a step back from it, give myself time to really take in everything the new opportunity presents itself to be and then move forward with it. At the same time, I’ve also made the promise to fully and 110% trust in my initial instincts. Yes, there’s always room for error or learning but for the most part my instincts have always been spot on, even when in the moment I wasn’t exactly sure why.
So given all of this, I’m devoting myself to giving more time and attention to my “Dream Board”. Last night, I spent some time taking pictures of things I love that help motivate me and I’m going to create an album of “Dream pictures” instead of a “Dream Board” and keep adding to it whenever I find something that I love and wish to have in my future.
As all the great minds of our time say, your thoughts really do manifest your reality. So guard them well, give them the considerate attention they deserve, and continue to dream far and wide!!
