Disorders of The Mind: Cause and Effect

It seems, at this critical juncture of the economic downturn, disorders of the mind is getting to be more and more prevalent. With gas prices skyrocketing to unprecedented levels, there is only one entity that is continuing to prosper and that is the oil companies. The average person whose dependence on gasoline, necessary to get to work and back, must defray a big slice of his or her income in the way of refills, apart from the wear and tear and maintenance, including the struggle to eke out an existence which is getting to be harder and harder, the consequence of which is nothing but misery, despair and, perhaps, even suicide.

Chronic depression could lead to problems, such as changes in sleep patterns, extreme pessimism, irritability, and lack of motivation.  And this applies to those that are holding on to jobs precariously, but for those that cannot find work, life seems meaningless, while hope for any kind of a silver lining in the clouds of despair, remains at once shattered.

How has this come about in a country where a well-established order of democracy should have taken care of certain important aspects of the economy is beyond the understanding of the average individual, but for those who are aware of the mechanisms of the economic machine, the answer is simple. It is the outcome of greed on the part of many industrial entities to outsource a major part of their business outside the United States, real estate ventures that were out of control, deliberate and unorthodox methods practiced by Wall Street, and a host of other missteps in the circles of government, all of which have taken a long time to fester until now.

Things are bound to get worse until it gets better. In the meanwhile, mental disorders in many shapes and forms might continue, as a result of past blunders until we see that long-awaited silver lining when the dark clouds of suffering would begin to scatter.
