Have you ever dream being bitten by a snake or having a frightening encounter with that particular reptile, have you ever wonder what is the meaning of the dream you’ve experienced? Well there might be a hidden message in that dream of yours, so let’s see what dreams about snake have to say.
Snake represent knowledge and temptations. Snakes have a very important meaning in dreams. In ancient Egypt the snake was a symbol of rebirth (because it sheds its skin). A snake opened knowledge to man in the Garden of Eden; therefore, the snake also means knowledge. It also indicates the cycle of life, which is why a snake is used as a symbol in medicine. A snake appearing with a staff (Caduceus) indicates that you are about to help someone else out.

The snake is a strong phallic or sexual symbol and in a dream can represent the dreamer’s libido, showing the repression of one’s sexual feelings. This is particularly true if you dream that you have a snake coiled around you. To dream of being chased by a snake may mean that you are scared of the sexual advances of someone else. To be bitten by a snake indicates that you fear a sexual liaison. However, if someone else rescues you from the snake then there is a longing for a relationship with that person.
If you dream of your children playing with snakes then I can indicate a feat that they are growing up and can mean that you are trying to be over protective of them, depending on their age.
If you dream of handling snakes then it means that you are conquering your fears. The type of snake you see will also be an indication of the type of fear you have. Generally the more dangerous or bigger the snake is, the bigger the problem appears to you. A cobra, for instance, indicates that a situation is fast approaching and that you will have to maneuver quickly to resolve it.
If the cobra was dancing to the music of a snake charmer, it indicates that your character is being criticized by malicious gossip of a sexual nature by those around you.

A grass snake, which is non-poisonous, represents a smaller fear but much depends on whether it is pursuing you or not.
An overriding fear of snakes in both sleep and waking life may indicate a hangover from a past life. Therefore, dreams of snakes bring with them a lot of emotional symbolism.
To see many snakes wriggling over each other represents many emotional issues intermingling and over-lapping. It can also indicate a feeling of not handling relationships properly.
To dream of a gorgon, such as Medusa, with her head of snakes indicates that you feel that you cannot commit to a relationship, and, just as the gaze of Medusa was said to turn men to stone, the gaze is turning your heart to stone in this relationship. To dream of walking over a pit of snakes, yet escaping without being hurt or killing the snakes indicates that you will overcome any problem.

If you find that in your dream a snake approaches you and you chase it away, only for it to reappear in a later dream, it indicates that there is someone who is trying to pursue you. It suggests that possibly someone does not seem to want to take no for an answer.
