Dreams
Why do we dream?
I’ve always been interested in dreams. I’ve read alot on dreams, and did some dream studies of my own. I’ve also had many visions in my sleep, ( Visions of what is to come, or something I needed an answer to). It’s hard to descibe visions from dreams, except for when I have a vision, it is a sensation of knowing, (If that makes any sense). Lucid dreaming is the most incredable of all dreams. For those of you that don’t know what lucid dreaming is, it’s when you are aware that you are dreaming. I used to have a friend that claimed that when he had a nightmare, he would wake up, decide how to conquer whatever it was in his dream, and go back and act out what he had planned. I always laughed at him. The fact that you could control your dreams was comical to me..Since then, I have had many lucid dreams, and for those of you that have had them, you know it is the most amazing experience. Things actually are more vibrant and more clear then in our waking lives. We feel more spiritually aware, and we can do anything. You can’t grasp the concept and the feeling of a lucid dream until you actually have one. It takes practice, and constant awareness. I believe that we dream for a reason. We are asleep for so much of our lives, and instead of waisting this sleeping period of our lives, we have hours to expand our minds on so many levels. When we conquer things in our dreams, it also helps us in our waking lives. There was an indian tribe that based their lives on dreams, and when they awoke every morning, they would sit down with their children and discuss what they had dreamt the night before. They listened to each others dreams and would find the purpose of that dream. They based their days and life experiences around those dreams. I believe that when we have nightmares, it’s our minds way of trying to get our full attention. The dream itself may not make any sense, but if you get to a point where your so scared, you’ll often realize your dreaming. When we are aware that we’re dreaming, our sense of awarness changes. We need to concentrate on the dream so much so that we are able to stay in the dream and stay in that realm of knowing that were dreaming. It’s hard because if you forget your dreaming, the lucidity stops. If you think about yourself lying there as you dream, you will wake up and lose the lucid dream that way.You have to be in a space somewhere between waking and sleeping. Once we get into this state, many awesome things can take place. We can get answers or guidance from our spirit guides, or our higher selves. We can heal our bodies. We can conquer fears, and solve problems, and see things from a different perspective. When we sleep, our bodies can rest while our minds can recall everything that went on in our day. We are able to analize, and take in certain things that maybe we didn’t when we were awake. Our subconsciousness takes in everything, and it is able to come out in our sleep. Edgar Cayce is a perfect example of dreams and healing. He was able to accomplish so much while being in this state. We all have this ability, but like anything else, it takes practice. Our dreams teach us many things. It’s not just our minds wandering aimlessly. For those of you that have not had a lucid dream, and are interested in this subject, their are some great books on dreams and lucid dreaming, and the text in alot of these are simple to read, and helps provide you with the tools to be able to do this. We are the masters of our dreams, so next time you go to sleep…Tell yourself that You are going to be aware your dreaming. You’ll have the most amazing experience. For some, it’s easy to do. It took me a really long time to be able to get to that state, but it was worth all the work, because now I use my dreams as guidance, and it is incredable the things we can discover……
