Escaping Influence

How people are controlled without awareness.

We could tell when Mark spoke to William   He would jump up with suspicion, convoluted ‘conspiracy’ theories, and turn against whomever William desired.

If one was telling Mark that he should attend summer classes, and William told him this was a way to prevent him from seeing Maryanne, it didn’t matter if the speaker didn’t know Maryanne; William’s words, how he spoke, always convinced Mark.

We used to joke about it, and if we wanted Mark to do something we’d get William to do the honors.  Eventually, Mark somehow was brought to realization that William did not have any particular ‘good’ in mind, didn’t have any real reason.  He just like ‘control’.  He just liked knowing that he could get Mark to adopt his current view.

Very often one has to be in touch with their own feelings, ideas, etc.  Actually know what one believes, and why.  Most people seem not to ‘have time’ for what might be called ‘meditation’ or ‘reflection’ or simply ‘thinking.’  This makes them putty in the hands of someone who has ‘definite ideas’.

In most cases the ‘mind control’ is not clear to the victim.  In most cases a person is either indifferent or a few degrees positive or negative.  If they do not appreciate the nature of William they will soon have their minds reformed into his pattern, not realizing that the ‘facts’ he dispenses are fictions

If one can focus on how they feel, what they believe ante and then post discussion with a William they are out of the net.  But most people will remain easily influenced and controlled by others.
