1 and 2. A really good liar will look you squarely in the eye and lie to you calmly and smoothly and very sincerely.
3. They can change the topic of conversation very smoothly so that you don’t notice. Maybe you suddenly feel yourself becoming defensive before you realize you are being attacked as a distraction.
4. Really good liars will hold your hands or touch you while they lie. You may experience a sudden need to scratch your nose, ear, or back of your neck, however, which is a sympathetic way to tell they are ‘itchy’.
5. May laugh at the wrong time, but will have an excuse to cover it up.
6. They don’t look nervous at all, but you may still feel something is ‘off’ that you can’t explain.
7. This may work opposite for left handers. They may look up and to the right instead of up and to the left while they are thinking up their lie-on-the-fly.
