Male Artists More Sensual?
The artistic side of a man proved to be a sexual trait that is often charming women, according to psychologist Geoffrey Miller in his book, The ing Mind: How Sexual Choice Shaped the Evolution of Human Nature. Not surprisingly, a lot of rock stars and then say that one advantage of their profession is undergoing due to easy sexual access of beautiful women.
The theory of evolutionary psychologist from the University of New Mexico was then tested by Helen Clegg, Daniel Nettle, and Dorothy Miell, who then reported the results in an article titled Status and Success Amongst ing Visual Artists, published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology. The team psychologist investigates the link between artistic ability and success for artists looking for a partner male or female. The hypothesis they are, the greater one’s artistic abilities, the greater the success they are looking for a partner. However, this only applies to male artists. Then, the higher their status in the art world, the higher their propensity to engage in a strategy of short-term relationships.
To test this theory, the research team is investigating 236 visual artists (85 men and 151 women) with an age range 18-78 years. Their artistic success is measured by answers to questions about the length of time spent working in a certain time, the number of days in which their works exhibited in the last five years, as well as minimum and maximum prices of their works. The number of sexual partners (of the recognition of respondents) was used as a measure of success of finding a partner. Finally, the penchant to seek short-term relationships and long term is obtained by asking respondents to mention how many times a relationship in which they live, from one-night stand up to 10 years or more. Each then given points 1-8, and calculated by the calculation of logarithms to obtain the final value.
“Every one-night stand to get 1 point, every relationship up to a month to get 2 points, and eventually every relationship that lasted 10 years or more, gets 8 points. The number of total points for each person are added and divided by the sum total of their relationship,” saidresearch team.
After counting and formulate all the data, researchers determined that “the more successful male artists, the more sexual partners than those artists who are not so successful, although this does not apply to women artists”.
In conclusion, do not wonder why so many women are fascinated by the figure of Steven Tyler, Mick Jagger, or Pablo Picasso. For women, artistic success is sexy!
