Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
I describe in this paper about the five needs of Maslow and describe one person that would not have that need.

Maslow hierarchy of needs is in all of us and we try to meet each and every one of them. The five needs he describe physiological, safety, love, esteem and self –actualization can describe anyone professional to someone homeless. It really depends on how you were raised and the personality traits you have developed.
Physiological need would best describe a homeless person. I once had a talk with a homeless man and I asked him if he was just having a hard time. He said to me that he chose to be homeless and he once had a family, job and a life. We may not know why he did this but we could think that his standards or the standards of others were too high to meet and he just walked away.
Safety need is probably the most important of them all because as you are growing up you want to feel safe. This would describe a child that is in the foster care system because they never feel safe. Their lives are always uncertain no matter where they live so it is important when the children are babies to love them and make them feel safe. A lot of the children grow up to feel insecure or have low self-esteem.
Most people in world need to be loved and need to belong to something but when that need is not met then you would have to describe a teenager that is trying to win the love of their mother. When you have a teenager that does everything for their mother and the mother then rejects that child then I would think that it would be psychological abuse. Sometimes teens grow into adults and still haven’t felt the love or that they belong to anything. Parents who continually tell their child that she or he is “no good” or “a klutz” can inflict lasting psychological harm. I do believe that psychological abuse is much worse than physical and has a lasting effect in adulthood.
Esteem need is important when growing up because if you have no self-esteem then you can’t get anywhere in the world. Children with ADHD would have low self-esteem because they have trouble in school and trouble making friends. When teachers are not aware of the ADHD then they point out to the child how bad they are and then the child might think they are. It is very important to learn to deal with a child like that so that they grow up to be productive adults.
Self-actualization need is probably the most rewarding one. This could be anyone from a doctor to a singer but I would go towards a singer. Singers are usually gifted in the world and might figure out early in life that is what they were meant to do. A most serious singer focuses to be the best they can be and live life like they knew they should.
Experiences in our life are what make us stronger in life. Maslow believed that less than one percent of the population to be self-actualization individual. I disagree with that because I believe that people can be anything they want. I do agree with Maslow that if one of the needs is not met then you can’t really achieve the other ones. You may have thought that you have gotten past one but if you are still trying to fit in or looking for love then you may get stuck at that point.
