Mushrooms Can Personality Change People?

Did you know that all mushrooms have a magical content. When consumed regularly, then your personality will change permanently.

Researchers at Johns Hopkins says that all the fungi can alter one’s personality. Apparently this is caused by high doses found in fungi, the hallucinogens psilocybin.

Active ingredient in mushrooms is termed as ‘magic mushrooms’, it makes a change of personality which is then tested on a few people for a year.

Professor Roland R. Griffiths explained the changes are permanently found on the personality known as openness, which includes the properties associated with imagination, aesthetics, feelings, abstract ideas and positive thoughts in general.

Changes in properties are measured based on the type of personality is widely and assessed based on scientific testing. In general, the changes usually observed in healthy adults for decades based on the experiences of his life.

This research was conducted by giving eight sessions of drug delivery that has a mushroom extract content (hallucinogens psilocybin) for 2 to 5 hours. Every individual in this test are given ‘moderate or high dose’ of psilocybin in one session of their medication, but they were not told when the session was conducted surveillance.

During each session, participants were asked to lie on the couch, using an eye mask to block external visual distraction, wearing headphones in which music is played and focus their attention on inner experience.

Personality was assessed using screening, for 1 to 2 months after each session of drugs and approximately 14 months after the last drug session.

“I believe the personality changes were found in this study tended to be permanent because they persist for more than a year,” said Griffiths.

However, Griffiths notes it is unclear whether the findings can be generalized to a larger population, since almost all participants in this study considered themselves to be spiritually active or always participate regularly in religious services, prayer and meditation.

Griffiths believes psilocybin may be used for therapy and is currently being studied whether psilocybin can comfort cancer patients with depression and help people quit smoking.

“There may be profound for this application, but we have not been able membanyangkannya today. It seems to systematically testing is still needed to disclose it,” he concluded.
