The divisions of the APA represent different specialities in psychology.Psychology is the science that studies the behavior of organisms. The Greeks began studying human behavior in the fifth and sixth centuries B.C. and decided that humans were rational beings.The three behavioral sciences are : Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology. Although psychologists use different methods and study different behaviors they all conduct systematic studies. Medical professionals who treat people with disturbed behaviors are psychiatrists. A psychologist who tries to help factory workers who have been diagnosed with sleep disorders is practicing applied science. 

Psychology is the term for the study of an individuals behavior. Psycobiology studies how physical and chemical changes in the brain influence our behavior Psychoanalysis – studies how unconscious motives and conflicts affect our lives. Functionlism studies the function rather than the structure of consciousness.Cognitive is an approach that focuses on how we process, store and use information and how this affects our thinking. Humanistic  is an approach that believes that people are free to direct their own destinies. ”Behavioral”  is an approach that analyzes how organisms learn or modify their behavior based on the events in their environment.

 When one is referring to a person’s prevailing mood, the correct term to use is temperament.The four basic temperaments are Choleric -Easily Angered-; Phlegmatic- Lazy; Melancholic-Reserved ; Sanguine-Confident
