Psychology Assignment Part One

My view on the perspectives of Psychology.

I do not think that any one perspective describes the human behavior more than another; each one has its pros and cons. All the six psychological perspectives will argue till the end that they best describe human behavior, but I believe that none of the theories alone effectively describes the behavior of man by whole. If we could combine the best parts of each of them under one framework, we’d at least be closer to describing behavior. Each human is unique having his or her own necessities.  And no two human beings are exactly the same.  While human beings share many features, they are still unpredictable because of their uniqueness.

The observation method is a complex research method because it often requires the researcher to play a number of roles and to use a number of techniques to collect data. Observation methods are research methods used in natural settings where ratings are taken on the basis of behavior by observers who need to remain detached enough to collect and analyze data relevant to the problem under investigation. Naturalistic observation is an example of this approach. Correlation method simply means a relationship between two variables, usually displayed on a graph as X and Y.  There are two types of correlations, Positive correlation, which occurs when both the variables are proportional, and Negative correlation, which occurs when both the variables are inversely proportional.  The experimental method allows a researcher to test their hypothesis by giving them control over the variables involved, allowing them to identify what’s happening and accurately measure behavior by using scientific methods. The scientific method represents the way psychological data is researched and collected. Scientific methods aim to gather information in a scientific way, so that it is both accurate and reliable.
