Sleeping and Dreaming

An educational article about Sleeping.

Sleep – Everybody knows people need sleep. We need sleep to rest our mind and body. While sleeping we enter a paralysis and all of our muscle become inactive. We become uncouncious and then, as we all know, we dream, but about that later. Sleeping has 4 stages and it has a line between the first stage, and awake stage, it’s called REM ( Rapid Eye Movement ) , maybe some of you have seen REM, when a person is sleeping, open his eyelids and you will see that his eyes are moving horizontally, that is REM. The fourth stage is called Deep Sleep, and it’s the hardest point for you to quickly awake. This chart is called a hypnogram, see a picture below. There is a fun way to induce Dream Paralysis, which mean to fool your brain that you’re asleep, there is an article about it here : DREAM PARALYSIS.

Dream – We have all had a Dream and I’m sure all of you know what it is, but here’s the detail. A dream is a succession of thoughts, images, emotions or sounds that we feel while sleeping. Nobody knows what is the purpose of dreaming is. Dreaming is rather a pleasant experience, even some people enjoy nightmares ( scary dreams ). In nightmares, your chances of going Lucid is very high. Lucid Dreaming is when you are aware that you’re asleep, more about it here : LUCID DREAMING.
