Things Than Can Influence Listening
by To have a meaningful listening, there are things that can be a hindrance in effective and artful listening.
Time
In listening, spending time is needed to the speaker. Long message is not needed to be said by the speaker because it will give way for the lsitener to be bored.
Age
The age of the listener should be given attention. If children, it should not be long. If professionals,their needs should be given attention.
Listener
Remember that there are different tones of speaking based on the people that are listening. There’s a tone that persuades, there’s that entertains, and there’s that make you think.
Culture
Any misunderstandingswill be avoided if the speaker will bear in mind the culture of the people who are listening to him.
Self- Concept
It will be good to hear the self-concept of the speaker. Any listener is looking original and new ideas from the speaker.
Channel
This is one of the important elements in effective listening. The route of the message have a big influence in the message being listened to.
Place
The place where the conversation is taking place should be quiet and comfortableto the person who wish to get the message or informationfrom the speaker.
