TV: Makes a Child Dull?
The television is one of the modern additives of the menu of the child’s leisure. Does a TV really make a child dull?

In certain points of view, yes; but, it’s not always the case. Children tend to watch comical cartoon shows than read the books in which you must have a good imagination and vocabulary to see the real scenario of a chapter. Thus we may say that TVs attract more attention than books. Moreover, it is faster to view TV shows than read books. This gives a parent a hard time to urge his son to read books- especially those which don’t have pictures. But there have also been new TV shows nowadays which may help a child learn just like Discovery Channel. It is also dependent on the child’s viewing habits. If he’s watching all day, then it will lessen the chance of being interested in school- for he’ll daydream all the time- and the chance of reading good books- his eyes will get damaged by too much TV radiation exposure.
Parents must also buy their sons books that’ll make them say “goodies;” especially the books with attractive pictures. When I say this I do not mean adult magazines, good grief! Don’t give such “books” to your children, they’ll also daydream all the time if they’ll do. (But I’m sure you won’t give him that, would you?)
On the other part, TV/cartoon characters are also needed in a child’s “vocabulary.” It will make them more friends and give them more topics in conversing with other kids. I can’t imagine a kindergarten starting a conversation by saying ”the weather’s good, eh?” Children must also be exposed to the modernized world.
