What is Emotional Intelligence?
How to handle emotional issues and not die trying.
According to Goleman’s emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize own and others’ feelings and the ability to dominate. There are multiple intelligences, today no longer speak of intelligence as that ability to solve numerical problems but it is increasingly giving more importance to the intelligence to handle emotions. For example, at work, the intellectual conditions are not the only guarantee of professional success, emotional factors are important team. It is clear that many people may have an emotional hold on their lives is better than others and that sometimes the reason for the success they generate.
There are several components of emotional intelligence:
Self Consciousness: The knowledge of our own emotions and how they affect us.
Self: Is the ability to not yield to or overcome by the feelings of the moment.
Self Motivation: You direct the emotions toward a goal, a goal and not make the mistake of paying attention to the obstacles, but on solutions.
Empathy: It is the recognition of others’ emotions. Capture the signals emitted and know others work on them to produce the best relationship with the other person.
Social skills: It is knowing how to relate with each person giving treatment which corresponds, for example, if you’re a boss, if you are a friend, if our parents or our spouse, to each his treatment.
The truth is that the rise today, of emotional intelligence lies in labor issues. The selections of job applicants increasingly rely on to put in stressful situations and see how the candidate reacts to a given situation.
