What is The Meaning of This Dream?
by I don’t always remember my dream, but this dream was particularly vivid and when I woke up, I felt the dream was important.
I remember the dream was in vibrant colours. The details are drifting away now, but I’ll write down what I remember.
I was invited/ordered to get involved in auditions that were happening straight away. I had no idea really of what it was about, but I went to the building, following a trail of others.
They all seemed excited and they knew more about it than I did. I went into a room where people were waiting for their turn. As soon as I was spotted I was welcomed and ushered into another room. There were fewer people there, and they were spread around and were waiting for something to happen. I was told to go to a far corner of the room and to lie down on a bright green kind of cushion/bean bag thing.
I did as I was told and waited to find out what was going to happen. I closed my eyes and listened to people moving around. I still had no idea what was going on. Then I must have fallen asleep in the dream.
When I woke up I was in my own bed and the dream was over without me understanding it at all. This dream left me feeling like I had missed out on something that was important but in a way I didn’t understand.
I didn’t feel angry, but I did feel sorry I wasn’t deemed to be important enough to have the reason for it all explained to me. In the dream I knew it was important but I didn’t know why it was, or in what way.
I can still see the cushion thing in my mind, and I can see myself lying down there as if I was about twenty metres away.
So that’s it – the dream occurred at about 9.00am, in early September this year.
I don’t know much about dream interpretation, but I would be happy to hear from any one who feels they may be able to shed some light on this dream.

Great work again Carolyn. I’m no dream specialist or psychologist, but that sounds like one of two things being subconscioulsy filed in your head. Either:
1. You have been looking for an opportunity, perhaps writing, or perhaps you are still milling over something else, or waiting for inspiration to hit you, but you know that whatever it is will come as a surprise, but you will excel at it, hence the impression of being somehow shortlisted to a special group?
….or….
2. You’ve been drinking too much while watching The X-Factor !

It would appear to me that you feared an interview of some description. You seemed to do as you were told, are you easily led?. And did you fall asleep because you did’nt really believe you were good enough, to be told what was going on.
I would think its a feeling of insecurity.
And happens at sometime with everyone.

I would say that the dream says you may feel that you are missing out on something.

The dream is telling you that you are missing out on something. Something that generally happens when you are on your back… ;-P

Thank you everyone for you ideas on what my dream may have been about. You have given me things to think about, that’s for sure.
I have been unsure about a couple of things in my life, and perhaps feeling a little less than in control with a few things. My physical health is something that has made me less in control of my body, that’s for sure, but I feel I am handling that well now. The dream was from a month ago, and I have taken more control of my life since then.
And to sXe Mare, I made the notes about this dream soon after I woke up in the morning after I had the dream – I don’t have a good memory, that’s for sure!

Carolyn, I often have dreams that end just before I figure out the answer to it all, or solve the puzzle, get away from the pursuer, or complete whatever task I was working on.
I think it is a commentary on my nature, always finding more questions than answers, never being done, never quite getting all the way to the top, that sort of thing.
Or just really bad timing!
Given your major life changing events, I thought your dream sounded a lot like waiting for a diagnosis at a doctor’s office. Everyone there always seems to know stuff, and you keep waiting for them to fill you in.
Of course it is easier with hindsight to interpret dreams than when they happen.

Calare, thank you for your comments on my dream. I think these kinds of things may be a way of getting topics about yourself to ponder. I have a few things on the go at the moment, and have been hanging around the edges and not getting ’stuck in’ and doing it properly. Maybe it’s time to start getting more fully involved. I’ll think about it all a bit more, but in the meantime I will spent time today finishing off a few things.

I think you would rather sleep than audition for something that you didn’t know the lines for, as always happens in my dreams. Maybe you were just avoiding failure or trying to do something that you knew wouldn’t work out?
