Why We Should Not Daydream

Few of us achieve our dreams because in many cases we spend too much time in our heads. And at the end of the day, we realized that our dreams were only achieve in our fantasies and sleep.

It is ok for man to envision what he wants his life to become but for many individuals, their goals and aspirations are mainly dreams. A histrionic play that is only existent on the planets of our imaginations. Few of us achieve our dreams because in many cases we spend too much time in our heads.  And at the end of the day, we realized that our dreams were only achieve in our fantasies and sleep.

Here is a story to support my claim.

John woke up the morning for his examination. He was ecstatic. John is an excellent student and he is likely to attend an ivory school college. He thought while on his way to the examination room about how his family would react when he passes his exams.

He sat in the exam room and thought about how his community, friends and well wishers would laud him for passing his exams. He mused on entering the college grounds and becoming immerse in college lifestyle. He saw the accolades, awards, girls and parties. He was the most popular guy on campus.  The teachers loved him and the students worshiped him. He saw his parents proud and beaming at his graduation as he read the valedictory speech.

He felt as if he was there in that moment and he could not wait to get his exam results. He sat up proud and then the proctor said “time up”.  John glanced at the exam papers before him and realized that he had not written anything on them. He had only managed to scribble his name before he swum off to La La land.

John could not believe it. He felt crushed. He had wasted his examination time dreaming. He was granted the opportunity to make those dreams a reality. He was too busy with the outcome. He was preoccupied with the fruits of the labour, when he should have been laboring.

John will have to wait another year to sit the exams. He is lucky because many individuals are not given a second chance to do their exams over in life. People fail and they move on to the next phase or they simple wither away into oblivion and failure. Quit daydreaming and work. The time spent daydreaming could be utilized into making those fantasies into a reality.  Do not make the mistake that John did.
