10 Symptoms of a Freezing Relationship

How would you know if your partner is losing his or her affection for you?

By conventional tradition, February has been known as the month of love and lovers all over the world. Particularly, it is the most auspicious part of the year when a special celebration is being commemorated solely for sweethearts and married couples. In fact, a particular day is set to mark the exclusive tribute being given to lovers. Others call it Hearts’ Day or most commonly Valentines Day, which is being celebrated every 14th of the month. However, for the purpose of difference, I would like to talk about the symptoms or signs which lovers, specifically married couples, experience when “freezing” or diminishing of warmth on the part of their partners creeps into the relationship. My view is geared on raising the awareness among couples that a relationship is like a plant that needs to be nurtured, cared for, and kept alive in all ways possible and that if any one would observe, or feel any of them, it should be born in mind that the relationship is undergoing some level of weakening and requiring something to be done in order to strengthen or to save it. According to several married persons I interviewed, there are 10 observable signs that a partner usually manifests if he or she is losing interest in the relationship or losing his or her special affection towards his or her partner. These, I have branded as Symptoms of a freezing relationship.

Loss of the “lovers’ moment”

Among the answers I got from several respondents I asked, most of them married, lack of or having no time for a partner came out to be the most popular. There seemed to be a consensus that the most common signal expressed by a “freezing” relationship is disappearance of the usual lover’s talk or candid moments which partners used to have especially when they were still in the courtship or engagement stages. A relatively young wife for example opined that her husband was a lot different at present than before they got married. According to her, when they were still engaged, they could spend the rest of an evening talking about just anything under the sun (perhaps under the moon and the stars) and would love being together just with each other for long periods. Such moments she said, made her feel the warmth and the securing presence of her husband as compared to the present when she could hardly recall the last time they ever had a candid talk or an star gazing at least, together.

Yup, and I wish to add physical absence… they said, Absence makes the heart fonder, but in the contrary it leads to infidelity.
Also, if husband and wife will not take each other for granted and will religiously do their responsibility am sure broken family in the Philippines will be lessened. I may sound idealistic and it is easy to said but everything is possible when we asked the guidance of our Heavenly Father or put God in the center of our marriage.

fOr me,of all the qualities that make up a good relationship, TRUST is undeniably the most important. It’s the one quality that a relationship simply can’t survive without and ofcourse with God’s guidance.
