10 Things All Women Want

1. Respect- O.k. granted, this should be a given, but there are a few guys out there who forget a lady needs to be treated with respect. We do not want to hear about your past sex life, or be compared to your ex. (And we really hate it when you rate other girls on the hotness scale right in front of us.)

2. Attention- A woman likes to have a guy’s full attention during a conversation. We hate it when they are staring off into space, or we have to repeat ourselves because our man’s mind is preoccupied with Monday Night Football. When a woman is talking, she expects a man to be listening with full eye contact. (Of course, she will give him the same attention and respect when he’s talking.)

3. Affection- Ah yes, my personal favorite. Affection doesn’t have to be sexual . Sensual affection can be just as sweet. Women like to have their heads turned up to face their man’s when they lay their head on his shoulder. We like for our guy to softly touch our cheek and smile at us for no apparent reason. Sometimes just squeezing a girl’s knee under the table and giving her “that look” can work too. It feels kinda naughty, but it’s perfectly appropriate for a public place. (Besides, who’s gonna notice but her anyway?)

4. Compliments- This is probably the one that women treasure the most from their man/perspective boyfriend. Tell her that she looks nice, or her hair’s pretty, or that she smells good. These are all safe, and not likely to get a guy slapped or leave a girl weirded out. Women like to hear that they’re attractive or desirable.

5. Chivalry- For those of us who believe in true love, Chivalry lives on. The best way to describe Chivalry is being a true gentleman. Women want guys to open our door, and offer their jacket when we’re cold. We love it when you pull the car up a few feet more so we don’t have to get out in the mud. It’s a simple concept with a huge effect on most women.

6. Comfort- All women need comfort at some point. We wreck our favorite car, or our old dog that we love so much has to be put to sleep. Sometimes we feel down, and sometimes we break down and cry. A woman doesn’t expect a man to always understand why we need comfort, we just expect you to recognize it when we do. The best way to comfort a woman is to take her in your arms and whisper “Everything’s gonna be alright.”
