12 Things a Man Should Do on The First Date
If you want to keep dating her, there are a few things you’ve got to do…
Now I’m not saying that you’ve got to dress yourself up in chainmail and ride a white horse while holding a shield to your chest and a jousting stick, but we all know first impressions are important and you’ve got to keep up on your first date if you want to go on another date. So here are a few pointers in no particular order for the first date in case you’re clueless:
- Hold the door open. There’s nothing that says “don’t date that guy” more than someone who won’t open the door. General courtesy for gentlemen.
- Dress neat and don’t stink. ‘nough said.
- When having a conversation, do not interrupt her. She’s going to wonder if all you like to do is talk about yourself and maybe you’re not potential bf material.
- Be polite and nice to the waiter/waitress. Tip appropriately and pick up the bill. Do not make her pay or worse, be told to pay.
- Do not rush things, no matter how much you are not having a good time, especially if it seems like she’s having a good time.
- Do not touch her unless you are flirting, and even then, do not touch her within the first few minutes of picking her up.
- Yes, do talk about your interests and your goals, but definitely ask her about herself. Women know that men like to talk about themselves, but they also don’t like to be ignored completely.
- It’s okay to smile, but don’t overdo it.
- Pick appropriate clothing attire. This is going to depend on where you’re going on the first date. You certainly do not want to wear a suit and tie if you’re just going to the shooting range.
- Be on time. If you’re going to be fashionably late, don’t show up later than 15 minutes. Even that’s pushing it.
- Don’t try to be funny. Let that come out naturally.
- Have fun! Leave work stuff out and just enjoy getting to know each other.
