30 Romantic Ideas for The Creatively Impaired
So you’re not all that creative. That’s ok! You can still be romantic with one (or many!) of these great ideas!
1. On your 100th day together, write down 100 reasons why you love them. Each week, give them another reason to add to that list.
2. Lay a blanket out on the floor and pack a picnic basket with sandwiches, juice, cups, and plates. Have an indoor picnic. Bonus points if you have candles and romantic music.
3. Type up or write down special memories you have together. Blow up one balloon for each memory, and stick a memory in each balloon. Also blow up two extra balloons. On one, write the word START and on the other write the word FINISH. In the start balloon, have an explaination of the game, and in the finish balloon, write I LOVE YOU on a large sheet of paper. Lead your beloved to where the balloons are, hand them a fork, and watch magic happen.
4. On your 1000 day anniversary (that’s approximately 2 1/2 years), get 1000 rose petals and a silver calligraphy pen. Write “I love you” on each one. From here you have two options. You can scatter them about the house in a trail that she will walk on in the fashion of olden time princesses, or you can present him with a nice box filled with the petals and a note saying you’ve never let a day go by without loving him.
5. Buy her 1000 of her favorite flower and have them delivered to her home or work as a surprise.
6. This one takes a lot of advanced planning, but it is well worth it. Throughout the year, take pictures recording your memories together. If you go to a park, take pictures. If you go out to dinner, take pictures. If you take a trip together, take pictures. Have one picture of a memorable moment together from each month put on a postcard. On the back of each postcard, write a famous love poem (Shakespeare, Petrarch, Elizabeth Barrett Browning…) or, if you’re feeling up to it, write your own, on the back of each card. Present them in a heart shaped box with a note about how you hope to spend many more wonderful years together. (Heart-shaped boxes can usually only be found in February, so again, make sure you plan ahead for this one.)
7. Get construction paper, string, and tape. While she is out, hang paper hearts from the cieling above her bed. Get her roommates or family to help if you need to.
8. Buy a journal that says memories on the front. Each day, write a memory you had together or a reason you love them. When it’s full present it to them.
