5 Ways to Keep Your Love Life Alive During Economic Hardship
Is your love life on the back burner because the funds aren’t available? Is there too much work, not enough money and too little time for romance? Cheer up! Here’s five useful tips to keep romance alive and simple.
3. Do something special for your lover, unconditionally
It is without saying that most couple take each other for granted. Economic hardship is one of the most nerve-racking situations couples can be in. So, not only do we take each other for granted, but we often add to the stress. Accept that you are only human. To make up for it, cook his/her favorite meal with a nice presentation. Or, think about recording his favorite sport game. Ladies love to find love notes here and there. Proposing to see a movie of her choice and be positive about it will do wonders! Also, both men and women appreciate a shoulder massage once in a while.
4. Take care of yourself
During hardship, it is especially important to take time for yourself. Financial stress has a tendency to eat at you from the inside out. Exercising is paramount. If you are physically able to, start a jogging routine, alternating with a yoga day. If this is too involving, just make sure you step out of the office at least once a day for a brisk walk. Sometimes, sitting for a few minutes, eyes closed, while practicing conscious breathing is all that is needed to bring you back to sanity.
5. Remember why you are doing all of this
Finally, when the walls are closing in, don’t forget the basics: what is the intention behind what you are doing? Why are you putting up with all this stress? Maybe it’s to advance a promising career or simply to support a family that you and your partner have fought so hard to build. In the end, it’s all going to be ok. Be excellent in the moment and grateful for the gifts you have been given. Leave a notebook on the coffee table in which you write once a day something you are grateful for. Don’t forget, as much as we can’t hold on to the good times, the hardship, too, shall past!
