A Traditional Marriage
Mostly in the provinces here in Philippines traditional marriages are still practice. Likewise the courtship.
In the Philippines we have so many traditions with regards to marriages. In our province we have different customary. Before the wedding we also have that “pamamanhikan”. This means that the guy must go to the girls house with his parents for the wedding arrangement and while they are waiting on the wedding day, the guy must have full service on the girls house we call it “paninilbihan“

And three days before the wedding day comes there were ”pasayaw” or dance party until the wedding day arrives, it is three nights and the guy must prepare foods for three days to let everyone eat who comes to the girls house.
One week before the wedding the bride and groom would not meet each other. Everything that they will wear on the wedding day should not be worn ’til the occasion comes, because it is in our tradition that if you wear something like for example the wedding dress something might happen on or before your wedding. Both the bride and groom must also not go far places as it is also a part of tradition because there might something ( accident) happen for both.
These practices are still used in some provinces, some have good effects but to others because they already influenced with new technology and some foreigners they don’t believe it anymore.
