I’m sure many have been waiting anxiously for this one from me. I’ve given you Signs of a Possessive Lover and Signs That Your Partner Wants Out so just when was I going to give you Signs That Your Lover is Cheating?

Yes, no wants to know that his/her partner is out on the prowl when we’re not looking. But knowing far in advance that your lover is cheating could soften the impact and even help you get over it and salvage the relationship if you really want to. Ask almost anyone who has been cheated on and they will tell you that finding out that it had been going on for years without their knowledge is what hurt the most.

Now, many of us will see these signs and fail, often intentionally, to catch them since we’re afraid of confronting the truth. Then again, not all cheats give all the obvious signs. You’ll notice that I’ve left out the traditional warning signs like coming home late at night or finding another woman’s lipstick on your man’s cheek. A smart cheating lover will know not to provide such a dead giveaway of infidelity.

1. Overly protective of his/her gadgets: Most cheaters guard their gadgets such as cell phones and computers with their lives. If they catch you near it they may get defensive and demand that you get away from it immediately. The reason is obvious – they don’t want you to find an email or text message for their on-the-side lover’s phone number. If you happen to pick up your partner’s cell phone and have it violently snatched from you, this could be a sign of him/her hiding something from you.

2. Overly protective of his/her place: Be on the lookout if your partner violently orders you not to come into his/her bedroom. I mean, come on! We’ve all seen messy bedrooms, right? Again, there could be an innocent reason why but if you find yourself about to walk in and you’re being blocked or your partner suddenly runs up and shuts the door then it’s most likely because he/she is afraid you might find something incriminating.

3. Sudden change in plans or venue: No, I don’t mean just sudden cancellations of a plan but rather, if the two of you had made plans go to a certain place and then, right at the last minute, your partner, for some strange reason, does not want to go to that certain place it could be because of advance knowledge that The Other Man or Other Woman is there. It’s very possible that the reason could be very innocent but if your lover has displayed other signs on this list then you could be in for an upcoming shock.

4. Hangs up the phone quickly when you’re approaching: Hmm, I wonder why… especially if he/she just hangs up on whoever they were talking to with very little or no formality.

5. Your lover accuses you of cheating: Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black but yes, some cheaters will actually accuse their lovers of cheating. The reason is because they are fishing for a good reason to justify their own infidelity and lessen their own guilt. 

6. Sudden change in sexual behavior or tastes:This could be any sort of change. For instance, a partner who was previously only moderately interested in sex now needing it far more frequently. Or, a partner who was once a very passionate and caring lovemaker suddenly likes it extremely rough. The sudden change could come from things they’ve been learning behind your back.
