Preserving friendship can also be acknowledged as you are to create a healthy atmosphere. Always be objective and avoid argumentation.

To process the emotion you need to have a time for solitude. No matter who initiated the breakup, it is always true that such is hurtful to both parties. You need the healing time to accept the sad reality. If you are planning to date somebody, better let the pain heal first because it would really sound unfair for the new partner if you have unresolved feeling to your ex.
