Where exactly does the term “butterflies” comes from? When this term is thrown around, it’s not the beautiful creatures we know so well. But the butterflies that stir deep in our belly when around the opposite sex and you feel something within you for that person. Don’t get this confused with lust; it seems to be a whole lot more than just a sexual attraction, and that being all. You have an emotional connection, life similarities, and some would say a feeling of love for that person. Does it seem right to feel this way for someone you’ve just met, and is it?
If friendship is involved, can feelings be put aside-to keep from ruining something already special, or will it overcome you, causing an effect of acting out in a manner so un-coming- that it tears what little was already there apart? Now if you have a connection with this person, and feel comfortable talking about the feeling between the two of you- and be able to control nature’s urges. Then it might restore hope and faith in your newly found relationship as friends, and be able to suppress through the fire, and come out on top with a victory under your belt.
Consider this, most reasons behind a torn friendship with the opposite sex, Are due to overstepping boundaries. You might ask yourself, how far or close are these boundaries, if ones crossed- will it present itself? Though never judge the distance, because if it’s so far out there, you might not be able to mend what you’ve broken.
As experienced in this field you think you may be, there’s always a fine line between friends and lovers, it just might take more will power then most. Reframing from growing a strong bonded connection with intimate feelings towards each other comes with a lot of discipline from the body and mind. So many relationships amongst friends of the opposite sex turn to intimacy, and fade and crumble due to fatal attractions. So keep in mind- the thoughts and actions we choose to enable, draws the line between a loveless friendship and an unwanted burden.
