Build a MAN by Talli Roland
A chick-lit gem.

Picking up a Talli Roland story is akin to your best mate knocking on your door with chocolate and wine, saying ‘I have had a crap day mate, let’s get sloshed.’ (In my mind, Talli is a broad speaking Yorkshire lass like myself, in reality she is in fact American turned Brit).
These books are so well written, the words just fly off the page and you instantly become absorbed in the characters. As all good chick lit does, it tells the story without the character even realising it. This means that we are left shouting ’snog him for the love of Chunky Monkey!’ or scowling to ourselves about the git of a bloke she is putting up with.
Many a time I have thrown a pillow at my sleeping innocently other half after reading a chick lit book that had a cad of a man within.
Serenity Holland is an American, come to London to be a tabloid reporter. Ending up as a receptionist in a Botox Clinic and dating the doctor was certainly a surprise to her, but she still wants her dream of being amongst the glamour and gossip. Then nervous, deflated and battered by love Jeremy walks in looking for a new life, and Serenity sees an opportunity to start hers…but can she see the transformation through, or will she end up with a botched boob job of a life?
I love a good romantic book, and this book is as romantic and as funny as they come, but with a twist that is refreshing in chick lit, as not everything is hearts and flowers, real life’s miseries and heartaches also get the Talli touch.
The sequel to this book, Construct a Couple is due out this year, and I for one will be first in line. Talli is fast becoming one of my favourite authors.
