Desperate Act of Love

This article talks about how love plays such an important part in our lives and how dangerous it is when one no longer has it.

Love plays an important part in our lives. Movies, music, poems, and novels usually express love as something beautiful and romantic. However, it can also become very deadly. We all need love in our lives in order to survive. Without love, it leaves one with nothing to live for because we all are desperate for the love of someone. However, when it gets out of hand, people can waste their lives or kill for love; and yet love continues to exist as part of human existence.

Love between a man and a woman is even more complicating than other kind of love. A marriage license does not represent a lifetime guarantee of love. Some people think that to love someone means to “own” that person; so does marriage mean having possession of another person? Just because someone is willing to commit to another person, it does not mean that he/she can be owned as a collection or property by his/her spouse. Many people can sacrifice their own lives for loosing the “ownership” of someone they love. When one person stops loving another person, does love worth to end one’s precious life unless the purpose of dying is for punishing that person.

Each one of us does not have an “on” and “off” switch so we can control our feelings whenever we desire. Since we are unable to control other people’s way of thinking; then might as well let fate plays its role in its own way. I always believe that things always happen for a reason. We have many experiences during different stages in our lifetimes. In the same token, there are many different aspects of love; and life might purposely let us have a chance to live through them with different people.

Life itself is a gift from god and each person only has “one live to live.” To me, the loss of the love one is much more painful than loosing the love from another person. A relationship without love is meaningless. Therefore why hang onto a broken string, a no longer exist relationship? I might not understand the meaning of love well enough; but I think nothing is more valuable than life itself.
