Does Online Dating Work?

Now a days many people work odd hours or don’t participate in enough social events to meet a perspective match.  What many people do is try online dating.  Some people use online dating because they might want to meet someone from a different area or feel a little safer than meeting a person at a bar or a chance meeting at a supermarket.  Also some older people feel more comfortable meeting online and then talking on the phone until they meet in person.  There are many dating sites that are free to post a profile but you need to purchase a membership to answer any messages or send messages.  But many are still skeptical and prefer not to try it.  

I know people it has worked for and I feel it works because I have tried it but did not meet my partner through online dating.  The reason I feel it works is because you can be very specific in your profile about yourself and weed out anyone who is not a good fit or who isn’t looking for the same things you are.  But with anything no a days some precautions should be taken before being alone with the person.  I would also recommend getting their name and doing a background check and checking their ID when you meet to make sure they are who they say they are.  As long as you take steps to protecting yourself, online dating can be a fun and learning experience.
