Ex’s of Either Sexes

Like Barracuda’s or Sharks ex-wives or ex-husbands resurface sometimes. It’s always quite startling when they do. Now I know some people have really good relationships with their ex’s. I’m not sure how that’s possible. There probably was nothing passionate about their relationship. I am huge on the passionate side. As a Sicilian it’s written into the DNA. Also if there are no kids involved it’s always easier. I don’t mean kids from the present relationship I mean kids from a prior relationship.

We all know how important children are in a persons life. Well people who have never had them don’t have a clue. I do feel bad for them. It’s your connection to yourself. Parents always put their kids before anything. Well any good parent. That’s what parents do. Some step parents want to be put before the kids and that’s dangerous. Don’t get in the way of a Mother or Father and their cubs because they will rip your heart out. I was told by someone that my ex should come first and the kids second. Then again this was coming from people who’s kids hardly talk to them and a couple of them are in jail. My kids, God I love them, are upstanding young adults with pretty good heads on their shoulders. Unfortunately the heads look a lot like me.

Anyway my ex decided to resurface. I was not prepared for her wanting to get back together with me nor wanting that. She realized that I was the love of her life and she would do anything to get me back. I talked to my daughter and she said that she probably had a fight with her boyfriend. My daughter is smart beyond her years. I received constant calls and text messages saying that she wanted to hear my voice and she would do anything to get me back because she screwed up. She said that for months she has been telling people how she had screwed up her life and messed up the only thing that was good. Now if I was her boyfriend I would be wondering what the hell I’ve gotten myself into because believe you me I had already been in that soup. And it was messy.

After a week of this she realized that we had too much baggage and it wouldn’t work out but that I’m the love of her life and she has to go back with her boyfriend. I guess I was being used to motivate the unmotivated. Am I the confused one. No I figured it out. Rumor has it that the guy woke up and they are now intimate together. You can’t make this stuff up. I mean all the time I knew she had no scruples but now here was the proof. The best thing is this guy is oblivious to the whole thing. Let me tell you after going thru 3 of her romantic affairs, while we were married, I think I am getting a well deserved rest. Oh I drove her into the arms of other people because I put my kids first. Can you say responsibility for you actions. She can’t.

Hmmmm. Well now I have a girl who is low on drama but high on love. I close my eyes and I can see her smile and when I touch her face with the palm of my hand it’s electric. But when her kids call I move out of the way because I don’t want to be mowed down. That’s what love is.
