Finding True Love – on TV?

Dating is hard enough. Why would you think 15 minutes of fame would make them love you?

The Bachelor, The Bacheloret, Rock of Love, A Shot at Love, you name it they have done it. The thing is that we get sucked into them. I haven’t quite figured out if we get sucked in to see if someone finds love or to see if someone cries. The question that I have to ask is are these people really thinking that they are going to find love on TV? Do they really think that there aren’t people out there that would sell their souls to get on TV? There are. They do. They have. They probably will continue to do it.

There are normal people out there that have enough problems with dating with out the TV. It cant be that easy to think that you have found the one, out of a prescreened cast, in a matter of a few weeks. The first date, that in its own is a story. The first date on these shows are made to be amazing. Yet the average Jo Blow, now a days, can afford Burger King and maybe a few beers while they talk about things that they have in common. So yes, reality TV love shows, lets make all women feel like crap when a carnation and a burger come in place of roses and filet minion. The ratio of relationships that have lasted to those that just floundered on reality TV is like two to every show produced.

There is a saying when it comes to love. “When your not looking for it, you’ll find it.” That is true. So then why do these people go on TV LOOKING for love. Then there is the average people who just go out. Guys that have problems thinking of a first date that wont put the girl to sleep. Going through the talk of what she likes and doesn’t like. Trying to find out how long it will take you to get to first base. Then finding out that all the things that she said she likes, she lied, then you have to start all over again. But then I guess that we have to give these people that do it on TV props. They have to go through all of that, on someone else’s dime, then find out that she lied on TV. So while Jo Blow goes through it with maybe a handful of friends, the guy on TV goes through it with about a few million of his unknown friends watching and judging.
