Finding Your Way Back Into a Friendship

by fishfry aka Elizabeth Figueroa in Relationships, March 4, 2009

Some friends come, and some go, but those worth keeping are worth finding.

We live in a world where we take so much for granted, and yet the most prized possessions are not given or received freely. We say money can’t buy everything but it is sure nice to have; but without your health, family and the friendships you build along the way; it all does not matter.

Taking care of ourselves is within our reach, but sometimes we cannot control sickness, or untimely deaths. Family, we are born into, but friendships you create build, and nurture, which sometimes is not very easy.

A friendship is built on trust, and loyalty, and we never know who will cross our way, for whatever reason, or how long will it last. Sometimes a friendship can just suddenly end, not because you really want it to, but because distraction cross the path, and these distraction become obstacles you just never really know how to handle. Then you figure you will call them, soon and over time you forget, whether conscious or unconsciously. Time marches on and the more time that lapses, the harder it is to call, and just say hello.

Reconnecting with people from our past “old friends if you will” is always satisfying.  Friendships that ends by either party, crossing the line by actions or behavioral issues can be difficult to mend, but not impossible. As long as both parties are willing, there is a chance; usually thou over time friendships can be mended, and then rebuilt.

If there is someone out there, that for whatever reason caused your friendship to end, extent a welcome. If you were the cause, apologies, even thou it may be very difficult or embarrassing. If they did something to upset you, nobody is perfect, live and forget. You have to realize, there must have been something that caused you to not only meet, but to bond and build the original friendship.
