Guys Having Fear of Relationship

Girls on the contrary are willing to take chances on relationships because frankly, the relationship realm is where they can fulfill their need to love, nurture and cherish someone. Girls have the innate desire to bring happiness to a guy because basically that is what girls are all about when it comes to relationships. Once the girls have found the right formula to attract a guy, then her goal is build a relationship strong enough for marriage and to raise a family as a testament of their love.

Guys, however, as the initiator when it comes to selecting the girl who he thinks is the one. Because most guys initiates relationship they are careful about moving forward in a relationship because of limitations of his freedom. The would have to be committed to one girl, he would need to sacrifice his space and his time with friends and the control of the relationship would have to be shared. Those attributes of a relationship are enough for a guy to develop commitment phobia.

Commitment phobia will provide protection against the guys limited freedom because he would simply avoid the relationship especially if the girl is intent on going to the next level with the relationship such as an engagement. After engagement is the ultimate relationship of marriage that is a major cause of commitment phobia for most guys. Guys just don’t want to get involved until they have sowed their oats and for many, commitment would limit their freedom to have fun experiencing the spice of life.

Commitment phobia is also an experience for girls as well, but most likely, it would be because they had been broken hearted in a previous relationship. The girls do not initially have commitment phobia. It is only after having been in a failed relationship that girls would develop a fear of commitment. Most girls do learn from mistakes and the lesson learned would to not jump into another committed relationship.

Guys have to be convinced to put down his defenses of commitment phobia and to give relationships a chance. However, commitment phobia is no longer a fear if the two people in the relationship are willing to give it a chance regardless of past failed relationships or the want of more freedom in the relationship.
