Happily Ever After

Having a long lasting relationship. Takes more then just love.

It takes more then just love to make a relationship last, to make it work. It takes commitment, communication, equal give and take, and so much more. Part of a lasting marriage needs good communication; talking out problems, getting to know someone inside out. You cannot expect just one person to do all of the work, it takes two people, giving their all into it.

I have seen two relationships, lasting many years. My grandparents were together 50 some years until my grandma passed away. I still see the love my grandpa has for her, still after all these years. Holding her rings close and all the love they shared, close to his heart.  I watch my parents together, sharing 25 years together tomorrow. It has never been easy, they have both had things they needed to work through. They worked through them, together!

Both my boyfriend and I agree with wanting a lasting relationship. We have been working through his deployment, things that have come and gone.  We both know and understand that it will take work, we are ready for that.  I do not believe in getting a divorce unless there is no way that an issue or problem can get worked through. Nothing is ever suppose to be easy. If it was, it would not be worth it. That includes marriages and relationships of all sorts.
