Healthy Relationships

Do you have a healthy relationship? Many couples do not. What does it take to have and keep a healthy relationship.

Couples who have a healthy and strong relationship are not afraid of commitment. Commitment is important in making the relationship strong and healthy ,it is the foundation on which it grows. Relationships take work, like anything else you need to work at it.  Relationships never stay the same they are always changing, because we are always changing.

When a couple makes a commitment to a healthy relationship, it means they are willing to maintain and care for the relationship, even during times of trouble times or disappointment. There could be trust issues in the relationship or intimacy issues, and you may look at that person and think you are not even sure you like them. But that’s normal.

I think any couple that have been in a long-term relationship have thought of “freedom”. Free to just do, go, and be who you are. We want “our” own freedom but many of us look to control the other. However, believe me, that is a sure way to hurt and damage any relationship. As the poet Kahlil Gibran once said

“Sing and dance and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, even as the strings of a lute are alone   “Though they quiver with the same music.”

A healthy relationship is when two people allow each other the freedom to “be” themselves without trying to change them. You both grow together or you both will grow apart.

Respect each other and their dreams. Give encouragement and be supportive of your partner. Support is very important in a healthy relationship. When we have bumps along the way, it is always comforting to know that you have a supportive partner and it only enhances your relationship and makes it stronger.

Trust is the foundation in any healthy relationship. In addition,  it is necessary to have it  in any relationship for it to grow.

Trust in a healthy relationship allows the relationship to blossom and is essential in a committed relationship. These important, essential ingredients will provide any relationship the ability for building a strong, healthy relationship

So, a healthy relationship requires, trust, commitment, respect and growth. Without all these ingredients, you will not have a healthy relationship and is that, not what we all want in the end.
