How Can I Make Friends
The chance of making a friend can be just a moment, a situation, or even a coincidence, but they can lead to very, very strong friendship. But, how can you really grasp the chance?
Making friends is something that everyone wants to do, and chances of making friends are everywhere – there might be just a look, or a situation, or even a hello. But, how can you grasp the chance? How do you know if the other wants to make friends of you or not?
The important thing is your thoughts. First of all, you need to really want to make friends with him/her. Think: “How wonderful it would have been to me, if I make friends with this person!” instead of : “Will the other accept me? Will I get refused?” Here is an example. My dad was in Hong Kong for company advertisement, when he was in an Expo, a famous CNN Producer was just standing nearby ready to give a report about it. My dad wanted to go over and say hello, but in fear of the reporter refusing him, and seeing that he was busy at setting up the camera, and lights, did not go over and say hello. Just then, another advertiser, even more far than where my dad was standing, noticed the reporter, and went over and said hello. They talked enthusiastically for a minute or two, and exchanged name cards, and became friends. What if, my dad first went over and said hello? The chance of making friends with the reporter would be his. So what kept him? His thought of refusal for himself, thinking that the other would refused him. The other advertiser however did not think like that. Instead he may as well think: “I’d be an idiot not to make friends with him! He’s a famous reporter!” So, then with this thought, he went over and said hello, grasping the chance of making friends.
Secondly, in what situation you are in. Say, that you have tripped over and fell down on the grass. Then someone came over and helped you up. You could have made friends with that person. Or a coincidence, where both of you take the same after-school lessons?
The chance of making a friend will be a little moment, and if you could not grasp the chance, it slips away in your fingers. If you really want to make friends, no one can stop you. Go over and say hello, and that really makes a difference.
