How to Get Divorce in The State of Alaska?

In a marriage, it simply results in the union of a male and a female legally, only with a prospect of a bright future and a rosy picture of life; whereas in a divorce, it leads to the heartbreaking separation of two souls.

Grounds for divorce on fault conditions:-

You can file a petition seeking divorce from your spouse under the following grounds.

1) When your marriage has not been consummated so far,

2) When your spouse is an incorrigible and habitual drunkard,

3) When your spouse is convicted under felony,

4) When your spouse has deserted you more than a year,

5) When your spouse is inflicting mental and physical cruelty upon you,

6) When your spouse is committing and living in adultery;

7) When your spouse is a drug addict or a drug abuse,

8) When there is a mental incompatibility between the spouses;

On filing the application under any one of the above grounds, the court may even explore the possibility of entering into a reunion or compromise between the spouses; it may even grant a legal separation between the spouses or may grant divorce, depending upon the various circumstances and factors like the age and health condition of the spouses, their income, their children and their age, the quantum of alimony that is to be granted in favor of a spouse, depending upon the income and other sources of a person against whom an order is passed for alimony, custody of the children and the conditions for their visitation and the disposal or the division of the properties of the spouses etc.

How to obtain a copy of the record of your divorce?

When you apply for a Divorce Certificate for submitting to a foreign country, you have to pay an additional fee of $ 12 and $ 2 fee for each additional copy.You should also mention in your request, to which country you are sending your certificate.
