How to Handle a Breakup

by W Francis PhD in Relationships, May 5, 2008

What to do when the relationship is just not working anymore.

Breaking up can be an emotional roller coaster of feelings. It can sometimes leave you emotionally paralyzed to the point you don’t want to do anything or go anywhere but you to stay around and sulk. And sulking and releasing your feelings is a good if done in the proper way, I’m going to show you how to break up and feel great at the end of it.

The first thing in breaking up is make sure that you’re the one getting rid of the other person .It helps when you feel in control that it was your decision to breakup. The second thing is to get of things that would remind you of the other person. Give back the gifts and teddy bear because you’re closing that chapter in your life and you don’t need reminders.

The third thing is find someone or something else to focus that attention that you would normally give to that person to someone else or to something else. If you incorporate these principles into your breakup you would find a happier ending to a relationship that didn’t work out.
