=> Make sure you are aware of the what is happening in the world of sport and the news. Knowing stuff can help you take part in conversations and debates. It can make you seem like an interesting person, even if you aren’t.

=> Try and talk about what interests the other person. For example, if you are talking to a soccer fan, than talk about what team he/she supports? Or if you are talking about films, ask about the latest films to a films lover. Keep the topic of the conversation relevant to the person. Do not talk about something which doesn’t interest the other person.

=> Try and join clubs and teams (sporting teams, debating teams, other) this will make you meet more people and the more people you meet or hang around with the higher the chance of you making friends.

=> Look clean, smell nice and look tidy – Wear ironed clothes, have a clean shave and have a shower everyday. People will like you better if you look and smell better.

=> If you have a sense of humour, then use it, but if you don’t, do not try and land dry jokes as this will make you seem like a bland person.

=> Always laugh at a joke, even if it isn’t that funny, but make an attempt to at least smile.

=> Be nice to people – this includes being supportive and helpful, for example, if someone asks you for a pen, help he/she out. If a person did badly on an exam, bring his confidence back by saying something along the lines of it’s alright mate, that exam was hard.

=> Try an take up new hobbies as this will increase your scope of conversation as you do more things. For example, start hitting the gym, or start taking boxing lessons. This will help you meet new people and also, give you something to talk about and discuss.

=> Try and get a girl-friend as this will boost your confidence and boost your rep among people. Getting a girl-friend will also make you feel less lonely. Go for someone is less attractive then you at first, because the chances of a rejection are less, but gradually (every 2/3years) move on to better looking girls, unless you genuinely fall in love.
