You’ll meet your date’s parents one of these day. You should learn a few tips so you they will like you more. Parents are different than your date and they can treat you harsh too. They can be critical after you leave their home. They might tell their son that they don’t like you. You have to know that his parents are old and they’re not from your time. They might not understand short skirt or pink hair.
Dress Conservative
You can dress in a nice conservative outfit since his parents are old and they might be offended if you wear a mini skirt or show cleavage. You should cover up your body. Meeting the parents is like going on a job interview, they can make a lot of criticism after you leave. I’ve heard a lot of criticisms from parents. You have to ask your boyfriend if his parent is old school or not.
Change Your Hair To a Normal Color
If you have pink or red hair, you can temporarily change it to a normal color. It can be hard for them to see your pink hair for the first time. Once you’re married to him, you can do anything that you want. They might make a comment about your hair once you leave so you should be careful.
Don’t Swear
Older people might get offended if you swear in front of them. You think it’s normal but they think it’s rude. Old people prefer tactfulness. You should be polite and put off swearing.
Don’t Be Too Close to Him
Public display of affection can wait, you should not make out with him in front of his parents. They will criticize you for it. Old people are not comfortable with PDA from their children.
Smile and Act Nice
They expect to see a nice smile out of you. You should try to act as nice as possible and leave the angry attitude at home. They can tell their son that you have a bad attitude if you don’t act nice.
Keep Quiet
Old people like quietness. They can get a headache if you’re too loud or if you’re too energetic. You think it’s normal but remember they are old people. They will like you more if you’re quiet.
Don’t Spill Everything
If they interview you, you should reserve some stuff and don’t tell them everything. You shouldn’t tell them that you never went to college or that you don’t have a job. They can make a lot of criticisms about you. Old people are not like young people. They’re not that forgiving either. You should watch what you spill to them.
