How to Tell If You are Really in Love?

If you think you are in love, how do you know that you are?

This sounds like a really complicated question and a hard decision to make, but it really isn’t.

Let me explain.

In the work I do every day as a spiritual counsellor I am often asked by people to tell them if they are in love. They have many different ways of phrasing it.

How do I know if I am in love?

How can I tell?

What will I feel when I’m in love?

Is what I feel now love?

Does he feel what I feel?

Strangely enough it’s usually women who ask this question. Maybe the guys feel embarrassed about even thinking these things. I certainly haven’t worked out how they operate emotionally, but I know for sure that its not like us girls!

Anyway, I digress.

Back to the subject in hand.

The answer to the question, ‘Am I in love?’ is almost certainly ‘No’.

Why do I say that?

Well, if you have to even ask the question, that means there’s a doubt there and if there’s a doubt there then its not real, true, unconditional love. You may still love a person but you can’t be ‘in love’. It’s the ‘in love’ bit that’s the special bit and when you find it, you’ll know.

If you have to question it, think again. If you are really in love then you won’t even stop to ask the question. Somehow you just know and no one else can answer the question for you.

That’s how I feel about it anyway.

If you don’t agree with this and you would rather have a definite answer based on scientific questioning and evaluation of the subject (LOL), then go online and take one those tests at http://www.okcupid.com

Somehow, I don’t think this will work too well but you might want to go and take a look just for fun.

    Excellent article :]
Being in love is such an amazing feeling, and I agree that if you have to question it it really isn’t there.

    Hi Jan
We have been married for 28 years now and I suppose we have taken it for granted and I have never asked myself the question.
(I wondered why she had me wearing a paper bag on my head- Joke!)

Good bit of awareness and article.)
