I Can’t

Femonstrating the deformed definition of love and relationships for today’s youngsters.

I can’t stand her anymore! She can be so irritating yaar! My younger cousin stormed into the room and with a frustrated look on his face sat in the sofa kept in front of me. My cousin is about 6 years younger than me and the lady at gunpoint was his latest girlfriend! Till one week before, my cousin was pretty deewana about this cute and beautiful girl in his college. Exactly one week before, he opened the door in the similar fashion and announced ‘Di, I think I am in Love!’ And today this love was getting all trampled up under his rude remarks for the very girl he loved.

Well, this behavior of my beloved cousin got me all thinking. How easily, these youngsters say that they have fallen in Love. In fact it just took three minutes for my cousin to decide that he has fallen in love and less than that to announce that he doesn’t love the girl anymore.

Now, he and his so called ‘girlfriend’ would have a fight or in their terms, a ‘talk’ and then both of them will decide to part ways. And I am pretty sure that after brooding of few weeks, my cousin would again manage to fall in Love with some other pretty girl of his college.

I got a little scared with my cousin, because being a good sister, I never wanted that my brother should take girls or for that matter his love relationships so easily! But when I saw around myself, I witnessed hundreds of youngsters doing the same thing as my cousin. In fact the other day, my own brother told me that it is the ‘In-thing’ nowadays to have a girlfriend but at the same time if you start feeling bored with the relationship, you can always come out of it and move on! Wow, these youngsters are fast!

But where is this ‘In-Thing’ letting the youngsters go? Is the term ‘relationships’ so meaningless for them? Will these youngsters ever be able to settle down in life
