Internet Dating Site Says "No" to Unattractive People

Beautiful People has gone worldwide and excludes "ugly" people from joining.

So the new word for Internet dating is “beautiful” and the key word here is “only”. That’s the online dating agency that now says they will exclude ugly members.

Beautiful People.com has been around for a few years. Now they are to launch worldwide and the site has suddenly been deemed superficial.

It seems that the criticism will run fast, especially from those people who are considered too unattractive to join this site.

The site insists that people post a photograph and then a voting system is then activated. If your vote is too low then you simply cannot join their site.

According to sources with this system only one in FIVE are successful. So in our reckoning that means four fifths of the Internet dating population (and that is millions) are considered too ugly.

To many that will be laughable and degrading.

This particular website was in actual fact launched some years ago in Denmark. Since then it has been available in other countries such as the US, Britain and Japan.

As of this week it will be worldwide and operate from one website. So far it has 180,000 members that are considered “beautiful”. A drop in the ocean considering the millions out there posting on dating sites and looking for true love.

Greg Hodge, aged 34, is the managing director of the site. He states that it is not shallow to be with someone you fancy. It is a good and valid point but still beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We aren’t always attracted to the same people. He goes onto say, “If you are in a bar or a club and you are going to approach someone, you’ll approach someone you’re attracted to. There’s nothing shallow in that.”

Yes Greg that is correct. But what can you say about the millions of people left behind? Does this mean that every tenth person in a bar is the only one who is attractive? As the author of this article I think not and would challenge his views on this. Better still, try telling that to people face to face.

He says, “People are fed up wasting time and money meeting unattractive people on the net.”

So how do you get rated? Well according to the website rules, existing users are asked to rate photographs of those wanting to join. They have options and can vote either “Yes, definitely”, “Hmm, yes OK”, “Hmm no, not really” or “No definitely not” . From the information gathered a decision is made based on the overall finding.

As a “bonus” of becoming successful as an applicant for this site, they promise “glamorous parties, a jet-set global network” and “potential contracts from top modelling agencies”.

It seems that for those of us too ugly to join we will have to go and chat up the minging people back at our local bar…

The best site I’ve seen for dating beautiful people on a website is dreammatches.com. Lots of attractive singles looking to meet up, and totally free!
